Ed Vescovi, now living in Branford, serves President to the Alumni Board, and works as Assistant Vice President of Mortgage Lending at Farmington Bank. As a student, Ed was involved in campus life as a Resident Assistant and also played Baseball and served as captain. He is the President of his local Rotary Club, and stays active volunteering for running road races and for kids triathlons. Ed's favorite thing about CCSU is how it "gets student prepared for the real world."

Curtis is the Past President of the Alumni Association. He enjoys working as a Vice President at Foresters Financial Services. Curtis and his family are residents of Ellington, CT. His favorite parts of CCSU include the School of Business, and Blue Devils Athletics.

Now living in Seymour, CT, Paula currently works at Housatonic Community College, after a 30 + year career at Sikorsky Aircraft. She was a member of the Nu Delta Chi Sorority and worked as a Student Manager at The Pub while attending CCSU. She is still active in the community as Director for the Housatonic Community College Foundation and is President of the Seymour Library Board of Directors. Her favorite thing about CCSU is the support and sense of family that has sustained over the years.

Amy Hewitt Cunningham, Executive Director, Connecticut Health Council primary focus is to promote Connecticut as a center of health excellence and support the development of businesses and initiatives that will enhance health care and wellness both locally and nationally.
Before joining the Council in May, 2014, Ms. Cunningham worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hartford campus where she served as the Acting Director of Enrollment Management and Marketing. Prior to that, Ms. Cunningham spent 13 years with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist. She received her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hartford and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Connecticut State University where she currently serves as Second Vice President on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Ms. Cunningham has also previously served as an executive officer on the Connecticut ACE Women's Network and is a member of the Connecticut Women’s Council.

Rick lives with his family in Plantsville, CT and is retired from his career at UPS. While a student, Rick played for the CCSU Club Hockey team and pledged the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. He is still involved in his local community as a Scout Leader with the Boy Scouts of America. Rick's favorite thing about CCSU is the friendships he was able to build, especially through the many Greek organizations on campus, and attending campus events.

Velma is currently living in Bloomfield, CT, and works at Stone Academy. She is an active member of the Hartford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a national private, non-profit, public service organization. In her days as a student Velma was very active. She was a cheerleader, and also served on the Student Government Association, Black Student Union and African Studies Club. Velma is definitely a proud Blue Devil. Her favorite thing about CCSU? "Campus life and Blue Devils Basketball and Football."

Degree: B.S. Elementary Education, M.S. Guidance and Counseling
Linda lives in Vernon, CT. She has held a few positions at CT middle schools, including teacher, counselor and principal. She is also a part-time exercise instructor. While a student, Linda was involved in the Drama Club, Hall Council, Homecoming Court, pledged the IKT Sorority, and was a cheerleader. She stays involved in her local community as part of the Drug and Alcohol Council, teaching CCD, helping to organize blood drives and bike-a-thons and is the director of her Scrabble Club. Linda's favorite things about CCSU are the many friends and "sistas" she made, going to and cheerleading for basketball and football games, performing in the CCSU Theatre production of The Glass Menagerie, good times at the Towne House apartments and the mentoring and assistance provided by CCSU athletic trainer and professor Carl Krein and his wife.

Perry lives right up the road in Newington, and is employed at Stanley Black & Decker. While attending CCSU, he was on the track & field team and was a member of the Marketing Club. His favorite thing about CCSU is his great experience attending the university and the friendly staff employed at CCSU.

Alex lives in nearby Southington and works at the leading multinational, multimedia sports entertainment company, ESPN, as Associate Director of Internal Communications. When enrolled at CCSU, he was a Vice President and Films Committee Chair of the programming board, the president of the CCSU chapter of the Golden Key Honors Society, and served on the Student Union Board of Governors (SUBOG). Alex remains involved as a member of the CT chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), which now has a student chapter on campus. What Alex loves most about CCSU is the high volume of student activities, clubs and organizations that are available to give students a full experience as well as the opportunity to apply skills they are learning in the classroom.

Brian is currently residing in Amston, CT and working for The Hartford. While a student at CCSU, he was a sports DJ for WFCS Radio, worked in Residence Life, and was involved in intramural sports. He stays involved in his local community coaching a variety of youth sports including football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. Brian's favorite things about CCSU are the small community feel, the experience of living on campus, and the balance of adjunct and full-time professors.

Keryn resides in Haddam, but was born and raised right here in New Britain. Keryn is a Consultant for the Performance Office at the Connecticut State Department of Education, where she manages a number of projects including several major data collections. Keryn began her career with the State Department of Education through CCSU’s Cooperative Education program. As a student at CCSU, she worked in the Office of Student Affairs, wrote for the Central Recorder, and was a Phonathon employee. Keryn was a student member of the CCSU Foundation Board of Directors, an academic scholarship recipient, earned the President’s Citation and a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly in recognition of her academic achievements. Keryn's favorite thing about CCSU is the numerous opportunities and activities available for students.

Jeff lives in Portland and is employed as a Market Manager at Parker Hannifin, a global leader in motion and control technologies. While a student, Jeff participated on the Track & Field team, worked at RECentral and worked as a Resident Assistant. What Jeff enjoyed most about CCSU was the positive atmosphere and the life-long friendships gained while living on campus.

Bill lives in Farmington CT with his wife. He recently retired from a career in Information Technology for several local insurance companies. While a student, Bill played football, participated in intramural sports and was a member of Omega Kappa Delta Fraternity. Bill previously served on the Board of Directors for the Farmington Exchange Club which works to help stop child abuse. He also coached travel soccer in Farmington for 8 years. Bill's favorite things about CCSU were the friendships formed and that many of those friendships still remain today

Janet currently resides in nearby, Newington and works at BlumShapiro as a partner and Director of BlumShapiro’s Employee Benefit Assurance Services Group. She is involved in her community as she is the Chair of the Audit Committee for the Newington Student Assistance Fund.

Jessica is primarily responsible for brand management and community awareness of the firm through all forms of communication, which includes developing and implementing key marketing, public relations, and communication strategies.

Justin resides just a few towns over from campus in Farmington, CT. Now retired, Justin keeps involved by serving on the Farmington Town Council and local Housing Authority. He also volunteers with the Farmington Exchange Club, working on the prevention of child abuse. As a college student, he was a member of the Omega Kappa Delta fraternity. He also got his start representing his community by serving on the Student Government Association. As much as there was for Justin to enjoy on campus, ask him his favorite thing about CCSU and he'll tell you "it is where I met my wife."

Currently a resident of Avon, Pete formerly lived in New Britain where he was active in politics, having served on the Board of Education and prior to that, on the Common Council. Central proved to be a great training ground for such activity through what was then called the Progressive Party, one of two student political parties at the time. As a result of campus politics, he got to serve on the Student Government Association and was also a class officer. During his time at CCSU, Pete especially enjoyed being a brother of Sigma Zeta Chi fraternity. After a career in higher education, including stints as Vice President for Student Affairs at Central and Director of Governmental Relations for the Connecticut State University System, he became a Senior Program Officer with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. He appreciates Central because of all the opportunities made available to him there as a student. He is married to another CCSU alum (master’s degree) – his wife, Pam.

Charlene was born in Waterbury, and currently reside in New Britain. She is employed as a Probation Officer for the Sate of Connecticut. While a student, she was a member of the Women's Basketball Team and a Resident Assistant of Gallaudet Hall for 3 years. Charlene is currently active as a high school basketball official, IAABO - Central CT, Board 6, and a Division II and III college official. Recently, she was inducted into the CT Women's Hall of Fame (Class of 2016). Charlene’s favorite things about Central are the strolls across campus in the fall; Homecoming; the relationships she’s made through CCSU; and coming back to campus each year to watch the Women's Basketball Team and fellow alumni and coach, Beryl Piper.

Richard, or 'Dick' as his friends know him, is living in nearby Wethersfield, CT, but remains active in the New Britain community. He's a cooperator at the New Britain Boy's and Girl's Club, and is involved at the New Britain Lodge, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, and the Church of the Incarnation Men's Club. He also works nearby at the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. When in college, Dick was a member of the Delta Kappa Chi Fraternity, a DJ at WCCS/WFCS radio, and loved playing intramural sports. Dick's Favorite thing about CCSU would be the camaraderie of being a brother in Delta Kappa Chi Fraternity and the fun of working at the college radio station (WCCS/WFCS). He still sees and talks with many brothers of Delta and former DJs at the station. Working on the founding of the Alumni Association Sports Committee was a wonderful, exciting experience for Dick as well.
