13th President of Central Connecticut State University

Friday, October 6, 2017 - 10:00am
Welte Hall, CCSU Campus, New Britain, CT
Reception following on Robert C. Vance Academic Center Lawn

Who may attend the inaugural ceremony?
All faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of CCSU as well as delegates from other institutions are welcome to attend.

Do I need to register for the ceremony?
No, but to help the Inauguration Planning Committee have a better sense of the number of attendees and plan accordingly, your RSVP here would be appreciated. If you have previously submitted your response to the online RSVP, there’s no need to do so again.

Who will march in procession with the President?
The CCSU Commencement platform party. Representatives from the CSCU Board of Regents. Delegates representing other institutions.

Where and when should the platform party, representatives, and delegates meet prior to the ceremony?
All should gather at Welte Hall by 9:00 a.m. Entrance will be at the side door of Welte; signage, staff, and ushers will direct the parties to the Choral Room for robing in regalia. The procession will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.

What is the recommended dress for the ceremony?
Those in the platform party should wear their regalia. Delegates representing other institutions should wear their institutional regalia. For those in the audience, CCSU faculty are welcome to wear their own regalia or business attire; they do not need to rent regalia. CCSU faculty choosing to wear regalia will be directed to the lower-floor music room for robing.  All others should wear business attire or, if students, clothing that respects the significance of the event.

9:00 a.m.                     Welte Hall opens for general audience. Except for certain reserved areas, seating is first come, first served.
