Current & Scheduled System & Network Outage Information

Friday November 27th – Network Maintenance

On Friday November 27th between 10:00am and 3:00pm network upgrades will be performed.  During this time all systems will be unavailable.  This includes off campus access to CCSU e-mail, CentralPipeline and Banner.
 

Sunday December 6th - Network Hardware Upgrades in Davidson Hall

From 8:00am until 8:00pm, network maintenance will be performed in Davidson Hall.  During this time, there will be no access to any CCSU network services (e-mail, netshares, Internet, Banner, CentralPipeline, etc) from Davidson. After the maintenance is performed, it may be necessary to restart or reboot computers in Davidson in order to reconnect to the campus network.
 

Old Print Queues to be Decommissioned

Over the past few months, IT has been coordinating with each department the switch over to the new print server. Once your department has been notified, please switch over as soon as possible.  Instructions will be provided and posted by each printer as departments are contacted. Three buildings have been converted.  If you are in one of the buildings listed below, please verify that your print queue resides on \\printsrv1.  The old print queues will be decommissioned on these dates:
11/25 – Henry Barnard
12/02  - Student Center, Welte

Accounts Management and E-Mail Updates – Coming December 1st

The official launch of the new Accounts Management System is ready and will be released on Tuesday, December 1st.  The new system will streamline the process of activating accounts for students, faculty, and staff. On the e-mail side, student e-mail will be moving to Microsoft’s Live@edu program, and faculty/staff will have the option to select a new e-mail address. The Live@edu program provides students with a life time “@my.ccsu.edu” e-mail address, online data storage, and access to many other Microsoft online tools. The faculty/staff e-mail enhancement allows you to select  a new official University e-mail address if you desire. For more information, click here .

 

Attention Blackboard Vista Users

In an effort to re-coup storage space on the Blackboard Vista server, all Blackboard Vista sections associated with courses that were created prior to the Winter 2008 session will be removed in January 2010.  If you want to save any content from the sections that are being removed, please download and save the content prior to December 31, 2009. For instructions on how to download content, go to www.ccsu.edu/vista and click on the link under Resources for Faculty Tutorials/Manuals or make an appointment with the IDTRC staff at 832-2081.

 

Exchange 2007 Upgrade – October 18th through December 31st

Information Technology is working on upgrading the e-mail servers from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007.  This upgrade will provide enhancements such as larger mailbox sizes and additional SPAM filter options.  The first changes you will see are a new version of Outlook Web Access (webmail.ccsu.edu).   Information Technology will be providing instructions on how to navigate through these changes.  Stay tuned for details!
